With the placeholder %COUNTDOWN(YYYY-MM-DDTHH:ii:ss)%
You can create a countdown Display until a specific time. This creates an appealing visual reminder of the start of an event or an important deadline.
Using one of these placeholders is an easy way to make your platform dynamic and informative. Use it to prepare attendees for the start of your event and build excitement.
How the placeholder works #
The countdown placeholder works by entering a fixed date and time in the standard format YYYY-MM-DDTHH:ii:ss.
- YYYY – Year
- MM – Month
- DD – Day
- HH – Hours
- ii – minutes
- ss – seconds
So for example 2024-12-31T23:59:59
for midnight on December 31, 2024.
When you insert this placeholder, a countdown is automatically generated that counts down to this point in time.
Font and size settings can be found under Settings >> countdown and here the corresponding article.
Insert countdown #
Step 1: Insert placeholder #
- Navigate to the page, stage, or bucket where you want the countdown to appear (for example, the event homepage).
- Add the placeholder
%COUNTDOWN(YYYY-MM-DDTHH:ii:ss)%
at the desired location in the text editor.
Step 2: Adjust the date and time #
Replace YYYY-MM-DDTHH:ii:ss
by the desired date and time at which the countdown should end.
- Example:
%COUNTDOWN(2024-12-31T23:59:59)%
Conclusion #
Using a countdown not only provides practical benefits but also adds an attractive visual element. Attendees can track the time remaining until the event starts or an important deadline in real time. This not only increases urgency but can also boost anticipation and engagement.
