1. Hybrid events are new territory for all of us.
Events – probably no industry is more affected by the Covid19 pandemic. Bans on gatherings, new hygiene regulations and severe logistical restrictions are making many companies unsure whether and how events can still take place. Planning security currently seems impossible.
But as is often the case, this crisis also brings about innovative ideas and new possibilities. The niche market of hybrid events has been around for a long time. Due to the current situation, this event format is becoming more and more important. Instead of hoping and praying that events can take place again, many of our customers are now choosing this new solution: they plan their upcoming event hybrid or even completely digitally.
2. Planning security
However, organizers are often afraid to throw the usual and tried-and-tested live event concepts overboard. The possibilities of digital and hybrid events are therefore often completely new territory for our customers.
It is therefore very important to us to provide our customers with intensive and comprehensive advice before booking their hybrid event, because we can very well understand that rethinking and deviating from usual structures is difficult at first.
But it's worth it! Because hybrid and digital events offer plenty of innovation potential, full flexibility and, above all, implementation security!
3. Internet connection
Without the Internet, nothing works anymore. If the internet is gone or bad – the event is over. Out of. That's why it's incredibly important to ensure a stable, fast internet connection. If you stream an event with various break-out sessions and panels and the guests are also on site in the stream, bottlenecks in the connection can quickly arise. What's more, when guests from all over the world join in during the live sessions - the connection quickly becomes full. Many professional event locations are already well prepared for hybrid events - but it's never a bad idea to plan a backup.
4. Preparation & Planning
Thorough preparation for a hybrid event is extremely important for the success of the interactive experience. Improvisation is not always easy in the programmed, digital world - if something is not programmed because no one has thought of it, then the function or element simply does not exist. All paths and every link must be played through, tried out and clicked on the platform. In order to do all of this on time, it is important to allow enough time for preparation.
5. Courage
We're back to point 1 - hybrid events are new territory for all of us and that's why mistakes are (still) forgiven. We have an enormous number of new options for organizing events. The path to the best digital event has not yet been found and will always change. The important thing is to take the first step – and ideally to do it together.
